Open die forging

Implementation of forging simulation software is especially important for the designing of unique technological processes of big ingots forging. In such processes it is necessary to analyze all aspects of the technology to reduce metal consumption as much as possible and ensure a high quality forging.

Simulation of open die forging is easy with QForm  because:
  • It allowing the user to set up simulations with part manipulation for operations such as cogging as well as heat loss and reheating cycles

The quality of open die forgings produced from large ingots is determined by their mechanical structure and the absence of surface and internal defects. QForm  can predict the quality and identify unwanted defects throughout the entire volume of metal through the entire forging process.
