The program is adapted to use data from modern rolling mill algorithms that significantly simplify the input of initial data required for simulation. Special calculation methods allow for quick and accurate prediction of ring deformation with rectangular or shaped cross sections.

Simulation of rolling processes is difficult because the deformation zone is fairly small and is continuously displaced by the rotation of the workpiece. The large volume of material that is not subject to deformation must still hold the shape, temperature, and other fields accurately. Traditional simulation techniques would require a very dense mesh throughout the entire workpiece volume to achieve accuracy which would cause a very long simulation time.

Also, modern rolling equipment has rather complex kinematics that cannot be described by universal models. That is why QForm uses special methods and calculating algorithms.
